Welcome

Before going live with my blog, I dreamed for a long time of having one jammed packed full of recipes that I gathered from all over, along with a ton of mouth watering photographs and a bunch of crazy tales of my food adventures, like the time I drove 400 miles to LA just for a hotdog and then drove back home, the same day! A guy can dream, can’t he? But let’s be for real, if I waited to have everything put together for a blog like that, it would never happen. So, I took the advice of family and friends and decided to start off simple and just introduce myself.

Hi, my name is Trent and I’m a Food Enthusiast; I eat, I cook, and I take a lot of pictures and that’s what my blog is all about.

I eat all sorts of stuff from street food…

to fine dining…

and I plan on sharing all those experiences with you. Yes, I’m that guy taking pictures of all my food.

Now, it might seem like I eat out a lot, which I do, but I also cook. I have managed to fumble through a lot of unique and wonderful recipes and I want to share these experiences and lessons learned with you.

I love taking pictures of food, mostly with my iPhone because seriously who doesn’t have a camera phone on them at all times. I’ve learned how to finesse the photo just ever so much to create some really nice shots.  Oh, and check this out… I have a telephoto, a wide angle, a fisheye, a macro lens, and even a mini tripod for my iPhone! How cool is that?!If you can tell the difference between my iPhone pictures and a regular camera, well then, you’re good, what can I say?  And yes I take a lot of self-portraits with my food; you’re most likely asking yourself, why? I say to that, why not?My food adventures have really made me branch out into some serious DIY projects (much to the chagrin of my wife).  For example, I LOVE wood fired pizza, so much so that I built a mud pizza oven in my backyard. That baby cranks out enough heat to cook a pizza in 60 seconds! Let her cool down a little and you can roast some kick ass to chicken. I’ve cooked just about everything in there, I’ve even tossed my tuscan grill inside and done up some really beautiful ribeyes.

My newest backyard project, which I‘ll be starting on soon, is a Cuban style pig box made out of cement blocks. My plan is to roast a pig by the end of June, or maybe early July…I’ll keep you posted and shh, here’s a sneak peek of my plans…..when not in use, a movable raised herb garden will roll over on top, so you won’t know it’s there.

What else…Last year I started raising chickens, I have five of them and I get about two and a half dozen eggs a week. No worries folks, I have no problem eating all those eggs, especially since I like making my own pasta and some of those recipes want a dozen egg yolks or so. This is one of their baby pictures from when they were just two weeks old.

I also like taking classes; I’ve taken several classes on charcuterie. What’s charcuterie? Stick around and you’ll find out.

That’s about it for now, thank you for stopping by and here’s a small selection of my food photos, which will give you a good idea of what’s to come.
